INTERNATIONAL UNION FOR CONSERVATION AND NATURE (IUCN)
International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) helps the world find pragmatic solutions to our most pressing environment and development challenges. The IUCN is responsible for the compilation of the red list; an index of threatened species currently including over 12000 species.
In 2013, IUCN Director of the Global Marine and Polar Programme (GMPP) Carl Gustav LUNDIN signed a memorandum of understanding with William WINRAM and THE WATERMEN PROJECT. William WINRAM was made Oceans Ambassador for the Global Marine and Polar Programme.
The Parties recognize the benefits that each may derive from their collaboration toward furthering the mission of IUCN/GMPP and THE WATERMEN PROJECT.
THE TERRAMAR PROJECT is on a mission to transform the way people think about the value and planetary services of the ocean and to create a global community around their joint shared love and interest in it. They encourage people to think of the ocean as theirs based around their joint shared ownership of the Global Commons, the part of the ocean that lies outside of any countries jurisdiction or put another way a full 45% of the planets surface. The initiatives that TerraMar supports, and is actively involved in, are those that they feel have a direct impact on ocean health and local communities whose livelihoods depend on the ocean. One of the most effective tools is Marine Protected areas, places where commercial fishing are banned and places where there is no fishing allowed at all. TerraMar also works with plastic pollution and cleanup of plastics in the ocean, and or in areas where plastic can be eliminated all together. Over fishing and fishing practises along with scientific research to underscore the benefit of biodiversity in the ocean and the impact of overfishing on the over all health of the ecosystem is one of the other areas they focus on.
In July 2015, THE TERRAMAR PROJECT and THE WATERMEN PROJECT signed a partnership agreement. The Parties recognize the benefits that each may derive from their collaboration toward furthering the mission of TERRAMAR and THE WATERMEN PROJECT.
MISSION BLUE is an initiative of the Sylvia Earle Alliance (S.E.A.) to ignite public support for the protection of Hope Spots—special places that are vital to the health of the ocean, the blue heart of our planet. We draw inspiration from the vision of our founder, Dr. Sylvia Earle, and are uniting a global coalition of partners to inspire an upwelling of public awareness, access and support for a worldwide network of marine protected areas. From the seamounts of the high seas to the shallow sunlit reefs, Mission Blue seeks to bring about a significant increase in ocean protection from less than four percent today to 20% by the year 2020.
In August 2016, THE WATERMEN PROJECT became a partner to the MISSION BLUE initiative.
EXPLORING BY THE SEAT OF YOUR PANTS

Deepblu is a corporate partner of THE WATERMEN PROJECT. Their tagline is Dive On. It was created by a team of divers and technology enthusiasts on a mission to make life easy for divers. Their vision is to simplify the process of creating dive logs and revolutionize the way divers interact between dives. They want scuba divers and freedivers to have the best diving experience below AND above the surface. So we’ve created a group of products that make it easy for them to capture, preserve, and share their dive stories – Enhance Your Dive Below The Surface & Continue The Adventure Above.
The Deepblu mobile app is an online dive logbook and social network allowing divers to create digital dive logs, connect with dive buddies, plan their next dive and share their diving experiences with other Deepblu Divers.
The COSMIQ Dive Companion is a multi-purpose dive computer for scuba divers and freedivers. During a dive, COSMIQ performs all of the necessary functions of a dive computer, calculating decompression schedules and displaying all vital dive data in real-time. After completing a dive, COSMIQ syncs wirelessly with the Deepblu app, via Bluetooth, so divers can upload dive data directly to their smartphone and create digital dive logs in a way that is easy, quick and convenient.
The DiveLink Wi-Fi SD Card seamlessly integrates photos and videos from your dive sessions directly into your dive log, making them ready to be shared with your friends within moments..
